SBE Australia secures LaunchVic grant to grow advisory
Australia's Peak body for supporting women entrepreneurs, SBE Australia, today announced it is extending the work done by the SBE Advisory Collective and launching SBE Advisory Pty Ltd, a for-purpose, for-profit consultancy to ensure that women-led businesses are receiving much needed independent, bespoke advice and more tailored solutions needed to amplify their growth and scale. The Advisory Collective marketplace is a global network, and the new Advisory will broaden this further by providing concentrated and bespoke services to amplify the growth of women-led businesses at the scale-up phase.
SBE Advisory will be providing consulting services and capital raise preparation support leveraging 10 years of expertise and our extended network of providers. The new for-purpose Advisory entity also provides a means to ensure SBE Australia’s Not-for-Profit mission is continued in a financially sustainable way by providing income support to the Not-for-Profit.
LaunchVic is supporting the early stages of SBE Advisory with a $100,000 establishment grant. As part of this, SBE Advisory will be based in Victoria when it officially launches in early 2024. SBE Advisory builds on the work being done by the SBE Advisory Collective, a services marketplace that launched in May 2023, by providing more comprehensive and targeted solutions to help start-ups accelerate their scale-up potential.
Nicole Cook, CEO of SBE Australia, said that the funding provided by LaunchVic is key to the ongoing growth and evolution of SBE through the SBE Advisory. “SBE’s central mission has always been to multiply the growth of women entrepreneurs, and with SBE Advisory, we’re thrilled to be taking that to the next level as part of a comprehensive new strategy that will fully launch in 2024. We look forward to setting up new SBE Advisory in Victoria and sharing more about its role and purpose in the new year.”

SBE Advisory, backed by LaunchVic, will continue to target the market gap women entrepreneurs struggle to bridge when seeking out advice and funding, as they look to grow their businesses from start-ups to scaleups.
More details on SBE Advisory, which is a central component of SBE’s 2024 growth strategy, will be unveiled in the coming months.
